Hot Air Dryer – HD/HDC/HDS Series
New Omap produces high-performance ranges of hot air dryer in the HD series, designed for direct machine mounting, trolley-mounted solutions in the HDC series, and floor-standing large volume models in the HDS series. These hot air dryers are specifically engineered to dry non-hygroscopic thermoplastic materials in granule form.
Non-hygroscopic materials retain moisture primarily on their surface, trapping relatively small amounts of humidity. However, any plastic transformation process conducted in the presence of humidity can significantly affect the quality of the final product. The hot air drying process involves a fan that draws ambient air into a heating chamber, where it is heated to a predetermined temperature. The heated process air is then blown into a drying hopper from the bottom to the top, passing through the granules. This action heats the granules and removes moisture by stripping it from their surface, causing it to evaporate into the hot airstream. The return air is filtered through a cartridge filter and then partially or fully exhausted into the atmosphere via a bypass valve, optimising the drying cycle and enhancing energy efficiency.
HD Series
The HD version of hot air dryers offers process airflow ranging from 70 to 170 m³/h. These units are designed to be directly mounted on the machine throat and are compatible with 50 mm insulated TD drying hoppers ranging from 15 to 200 litres in volume, with a maximum working temperature of 150°C. Each unit comes with a dedicated connecting base.
HDC Series
The HDC version of hot air dryers also provides process airflow from 70 to 170 m³/h. These units are equipped with 50 mm insulated TD drying hoppers, ranging from 15 to 200 litres in volume, all mounted on dedicated trolleys featuring two-way suction boxes, making them suitable for beside machine installations.
HDS Series
The HDS version of hot air dryers features process airflow from 180 to 900 m³/h, with a maximum working temperature of 150°C. These units are combined with 100 mm insulated TD drying hoppers, ranging from 300 to 2000 litres in volume, all mounted on dedicated floor-standing frames and equipped with two-way suction boxes, ideal for high-volume requirements.
